Replace Missing Teeth with Dental Implants
Dental implants provide a secure option to replace one or more missing teeth. Whether you are missing a single tooth, a small number of teeth, or all of your teeth, we can help you decide if dental implants may be the right fit for you and your lifestyle.
Missing teeth can have more than just aesthetic consequences. When you leave spaces in your mouth, you increase your chances of developing severe oral health issues such as bite misalignment. Additionally, missing teeth can make it more challenging to participate in simple activities such as eating and speaking.
We offer dental implants as a durable and natural-looking restorative dental treatment. Book your appointment today to discuss if you’re a good candidate for dental implants.
What Is a Dental Implant?
A dental implant is an artificial tooth root. It anchors into the jawbone and provides stability for the crown, bridge, or denture attached to it.
Used together with the crown or other dental appliance, dental implants help restore the function, health, and appearance of your teeth.
In addition to helping preserve the alignment of your bite, dental implants also protect your healthy teeth from the strain or wear caused by traditional bridges, which are fixed to healthy teeth. They can also be a good option for those missing several teeth in a row.

What to Expect During the Implant Process
Before the dental implant process begins, you must visit your dentist for a thorough evaluation of the health of your teeth, gums, and jawbone. This initial exam is crucial for determining whether your jawbone is healthy enough to maintain and support the implant.
If your dentist determined that you are a good candidate for the procedure, then you’ll be ready to start the implant process. The general process involves:
- Extracting the problematic tooth. If you are not missing a tooth, but replacing a damaged or decaying one, you’ll need the tooth removed first. If you are already missing the tooth (teeth) being replaced, this step isn’t necessary.
- Placing the implant. Your dentist will prepare the area for the implant, which may include removing any damaged tissue or bone to make room for it.
- Post-procedure healing. Following the implant placement, your jawbone will begin to heal and grow around it. This fixes the implant in place, typically taking a few months. Your dentist will monitor you through the healing process.
- Crown, bridge, or denture placement. Once the implant is ready, your dentist will have your custom crown, bridge, or denture prepared. They will install it onto your implant using an abutment, fixing it securely in place.
Your dentist will keep you informed throughout the process of the next steps and important instructions for home care to support your healing. If you have any questions throughout this process, we’re just a phone call away.
Types of Dental Implants
Several types of dental implants can be customized to suit different levels of tooth loss, from a single missing tooth to a full arch of missing teeth. The right type of implant for you depends on your oral health, bone structure, and long-term goals.
We will discuss the different options during your consultation and recommend a solution that supports a functional, comfortable smile that you feel good about.

A single-tooth implant replaces one missing tooth. The implant post replaces the root of the tooth, and a custom crown made to match your teeth is placed on top.
This option looks and functions just like a natural tooth and doesn’t require support from surrounding teeth, helping preserve your overall oral health.
An implant-supported bridge provides a good option for those missing several teeth in a row. Two or more implants are used to anchor a bridge, reducing the need for as many implants, while filling the gap and maintaining a secure and natural feel.
Implant-retained dentures can offer greater stability and comfort compared to conventional dentures. A small number of implants are used to secure a removable denture in place, helping prevent slippage while eating or speaking.
This option is often used for patients missing most or all of their teeth and looking for improved functionality.
All-on-4 implants are designed to replace a full arch of teeth using just 4 strategically placed implants. This innovative option provides a fixed (non-removable) solution that looks, feels, and functions like natural teeth.
It’s a popular choice for patients who want a permanent, stable alternative to traditional dentures with fewer implants overall.
We provide implant procedures that involve placing the implant on the same day as the damaged tooth is extracted, saving you time and allowing you to recover from the procedure all at once, rather than over two occasions. We will advise you on whether immediate implants are a good fit for your oral health.
The Benefits of Dental Implants
Dental implants provide several benefits for individuals who are missing teeth or those in need of a tooth extraction. Some of these benefits include:
- Patients who wear conventional full dentures often experience difficulty eating, speaking, and smiling. Implant-supported replacement teeth can eliminate embarrassing denture slippage.
- Implants help maintain or realign facial structure and profile.
- Implants preserve the bone that is otherwise lost when teeth are removed.
- Dental implants are easy to clean and do not decay.
- Implants help to preserve adjacent natural teeth. With an implant-supported crown or bridge, there is no need to cut down adjacent natural teeth to hold a traditional bridge or partial denture in place.
- Implants help to prevent the appearance of premature aging that results from bone loss that otherwise occurs after the loss of teeth.
- There is a significant improvement in the overall quality of life for patients who have implant-supported or retained dentures, as opposed to standard or conventional (free-floating) dentures.

Taking a
Preventive Approach
Routine dental cleanings and exams are a vital part of preventive care for your teeth and gums. Our team at Bridgeland Dental Care is dedicated to providing our patients with personalized, comprehensive, preventative dental care.
During a dental cleaning, your dentist or dental hygienist will remove bacteria, plaque, and tartar build-up from your teeth. Your dentist or hygienist may also recommend other preventive services to help protect and strengthen your teeth from decay.
We also use digital X-rays and the iTero digital scanner to get a clear view of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. These tools help make your dental experience more efficient, comfortable, and interactive.
