Transform Your Smile on Your Terms

The key to a great smile is healthy and strong teeth. However, sometimes we need a little bit of help to get our smile and function to where we’d like to be.

Whether you’re interested in subtly brightening your smile with teeth whitening or are interested in a more significant cosmetic procedure, such as veneers, we’re here to assist you. We offer a wide variety of cosmetic dental procedures to improve the overall appearance of your teeth and smile.

Our skilled team of dentists, technicians, and hygienists will work together to help you achieve the smile you want. Our approach safeguards your teeth first, making sure that every cosmetic procedure supports your oral health.

Brighten & Refresh Your Look

Cosmetic dentistry covers a wide range of procedures that are primarily concerned with the appearance of your teeth and gums. We offer purely cosmetic procedures such as teeth whitening, veneers, and cosmetic bondings, as well as multipurpose procedures, like dental crowns and Invisalign®.

Our goal is to help you achieve a smile you feel proud of, that functions well, and that is easy to clean. Each cosmetic procedure starts with a consultation and examination of your teeth and gums before any recommendations are made.

Dental Crowns

A dental crown is a tooth-shaped cap. It’s used to restore weak, broken, or decayed teeth.

A crown fits over your entire tooth, like a snug hat. For a proper fit, the crown procedure includes preparing your tooth, creating an impression, and designing a custom crown just for you.

In some cases, you may receive an implant to replace an extracted tooth. Once the implant has healed, your dentist will fit and design a crown to place over the implant.

Dental crowns can be made from a variety of materials, including resin, metal, and porcelain. The type of crown you will receive will depend on both your preferences and your oral health needs.

Crowns serve several purposes. You may need a dental crown to:

  • Strengthen a weak tooth.
  • Protect and support a cracked tooth
  • Restore a worn-down or broken tooth
  • Hold a dental bridge in place
  • Cover a severely stained or discoloured tooth
  • Cover a root canal-treated tooth
  • Cover a dental implant

We offer different crown materials based on your needs and preferences. These options include:

  • All-ceramic or porcelain crowns: These crowns mimic the appearance of tooth enamel and provide a good option for those with metal allergies. Ceramic crowns are most commonly made from zirconium dioxide, a durable material that’s gentle on your opposing teeth.
  • Metal crowns: These crowns may be made from gold, palladium, nickel, and chromium. Metal crowns are extremely durable, long-lasting, and can withstand biting and chewing forces. They only require a small amount of enamel removal for the fitting. Metal crowns are typically used for out-of-sight-molars.

Veneers & Cosmetic Bonding

Dental veneers and cosmetic bonding are custom-made shells that fit over the front surfaces of your teeth. While they perform the same function, veneers and cosmetic bondings have different designs and can provide advantages depending on your goals.

VENEERS

Veneers are one of the most common cosmetic dentistry procedures. They can camouflage chipped or broken teeth, gaps in your smile, teeth that are too small, or stains that don’t improve with whitening. We provide porcelain veneers at Bridgeland Dental Care, so our patients can achieve the smile of their dreams.

To place veneers, a small amount of enamel is removed. Then, a digital impression is taken of your teeth, and your custom porcelain veneers order is sent to the dental lab to be created. You may receive temporary veneers to protect your teeth while your custom ones are being created. When they’re ready, the dentist will bond them to your teeth using a dental cement.

It’s important to note that veneers are only an option if you’re free of extensive cavities and gum disease. If you have serious oral health issues, these must be addressed before exploring cosmetic procedures.

Cosmetic Bonding

Cosmetic bondings are similar to veneers. However, they are much thinner and require less enamel to be removed for them to be placed. Cosmetic bondings are only about as thick as a contact lens, providing a much thinner alternative to porcelain veneers.

Cosmetic bondings can be referred to as advanced porcelain veneers. Because less of the enamel needs to be removed and the structure of the tooth is unaffected, cosmetic bonding can be better for the long-term health of your teeth if you’re a good candidate.

Whether to get veneers or cosmetic bonding is an individualized decision that varies based on the needs of the patient. We will discuss your options and assess your teeth during the consultation phase, so you can make an informed decision on which procedure is right for you.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a procedure to lighten the colour of your teeth and remove stains. Many people love the look of bright, white teeth, especially for special events such as weddings, graduations, and other milestones. We offer both in-office and take-home treatments.

Tooth whitening is done with peroxide-based bleaching agents. At-home whitening systems contain 3–20% peroxide, while our in-office systems contain 15–43%.

Depending on whether you want whiter teeth for a specific event or just to brighten your daily smile, we may recommend either in-office or take-home treatments. In-office treatments are more powerful, letting you leave the clinic with a noticeably brighter smile. We’ll discuss both options and let you decide which works for you.

You have tooth discoloration when your teeth are stained or darkened. It might affect the whole tooth or look like lines or spots on the tooth’s surface. There are 2 basic types of tooth discolouration:

  • Intrinsic (internal) discolouration: Caused by aging, tooth injuries, some health conditions, and certain medications.
  • Extrinsic (external) discolouration: Caused by certain foods, beverages, tobacco, and other items that stain the outside of the tooth. Poor hygiene can also cause extrinsic discolouration.

Teeth whitening done in our office can help you get brighter teeth faster. The bleaching solution is stronger than at-home kits, and can use heat, light, or a combination of the two to speed up and intensify the whitening process.

Teeth generally get between 3–8 shades brighter. We complete your whitening treatment in a single 2-hour appointment.

At-home treatments include all the necessary items to complete the process on your own schedule. We provide you with custom-made trays and the whitening material. You’ll fill the tray with the peroxide-based bleaching gel or paste and place it over your teeth at home.

Our team will provide detailed instructions on how to use this whitening system based on the type of whitening material recommended to you.

Taking a
Preventive Approach

Routine dental cleanings and exams are a vital part of preventive care for your teeth and gums. Our team at Bridgeland Dental Care is dedicated to providing our patients with personalized, comprehensive, preventative dental care.

During a dental cleaning, your dentist or dental hygienist will remove bacteria, plaque, and tartar build-up from your teeth. Your dentist or hygienist may also recommend other preventive services to help protect and strengthen your teeth from decay.

We also use digital X-rays and the iTero digital scanner to get a clear view of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health. These tools help make your dental experience more efficient, comfortable, and interactive.
